Trading Day Prep Work
Dow mini trading results - 05/15/08
The market was really slow today. We started just about where we left off on
Wednesday and soon after the open it began a slow moving trend upward. NYSE
A-D was in range territory most of the day so I treated it like a range day and I did not
really get involved or find time to focus until after the DZ and then only for one trade.
The best part of the day came right up into the close as I was packing up to leave the
office.
My one trade was the first long signal on the 12-second chart after the 15:00 bond
closure. The volatility was so light that my stop was only 10-pts and that is what I
targeted as well since the 12,999 crunchy seemed to be a ways off for the pace of the
market at the time. A-D had been telegraphing a lot of the moves higher throughout
the day even though it was in range territory at the time. That is still something I am
working to learn more. My entry was at 15:08 @ 12954 and my exit was at 15:18 at
12964. It was my only trade of the day.
Anyhow, its been a slow week but I have enjoyed the room time. Tomorrow is options
expiration so not sure what we will get. The 30-minute inverted head&shoulders
bounced off its neckline today. If it finds some momentum tomorrow the projection is
up around 13,100 somewhere. That might yield a few good system signals to end
the week. There were a lot of trade worthy signals this week I just have been in slow
mode for some reason. Probably because I knew I had all week instead of 2-3 days.
I am in the process of updating my website to make my life easier and to better help
you folks learn this. Please accept my apologies as I make these changes in the
coming weeks. No access will change for members, I am just trying to make it easy
to update things so that I can do that and also spend time with my family instead of
making a choice between the two. As you can see from the logs the site loses that
battle about 10 times out of 10. When I do update the site there is no battle at all : >
What will likely end up happening is a move more towards daily (or nearly daily)
video updates of the trading day and less of this typing stuff on this clunky Yahoo
Sitebuilder editor. It will incorporate a Blog as well so there will be some similar
updates but the Blog will allow me to get them out quicker and in more detail. If a
Wordpress blog expert happens to be reading this and is willing to look at
something for me I would appreciate a contact via email.

Looking towards tomorrow
The Pivot Trend Bias is UP so I will be looking for longs initially on a gap down that
firms early and I will be using the 89-sma and A-D for trend direction.
The Advancing Volume Ratio came in at 77%, which is pretty solid and usually has
some follow-through. I am about to my weekly goal and its been a long slow week
so I may try and finish up early tomorrow and let options expiration do whatever it
wants to do to the market without me.
