Trading Day Prep Work
Dow mini trading results - 02/11/08
The YM opened slightly lower today after being up in pre-market trading. The weakness quickly gained steam and we fell until around 10:00 where it found support and after churning a bit started a rally that carried through the rest of the day. NYSE Net Volume turned right along with it indicating a solid shift in opinion.
I had three trades today and they were all regular system signals. The first was during the initial fall after the open. We opened well enough above the 12,103 crunchy that I was able to play to it. Nothing else was in the way.
That led to my second trade, which was a first signal long after breaking the crunchy at 12,103. The stop went below the prior swing and allowed for a pretty decent target for the time frame. The last trade was the during the pullback in the 5-minute off the 10AM lows. When we got near the MC I started prepping to play the first sell signal on the 1x. It took a while for it to set up and we actually drifted up to the point where I would only play back to the MC from above and thats what I did. It turned out OK but I should have shifted to longs right there off my exit. I waited a while to let the MC test play out. It was during this period that I saw the Net Volume change. I didn't trade again.
Thanks again to the folks who have started sending more of their questions to the Yahoo group. It will be a great help to those people who come after you and also provide a central area where you can return for topical answers. As I start rolling out these trading videos more frequently I will also upload the links there in topical categories so everything will remain in one place.
Not a bad start to the week. I am starting to like Mondays more. This year with the house rehab has helped me get a bigger start to the week so I don't get left with as much at the end.
(Here is the prior Post).

Looking towards tomorrow
The Pivot Trend Bias is DOWN so I will be looking short initially and will be using the 89-sma and A-D for trend direction.
The Advancing-Volume ratio came in at 59%, which usually does tend to have some follow-through. The daily has found some cushion down here on its crunchy at 12,199. We could see a DD develop as the weekly come back into the KC more. I am trading Tuesday and Wednesday this week and after today am pretty close to my goal so I will let this PTB vs Volume-ratio battle play itself out and with luck will get some good movement off this level.
If you are using Sierra Charts and want the automated alerts template let me know. I will either send them to you or I can upload them to the Yahoo Group. The few people I have shared them with are giving great feedback. I set them up for the benefit of the room but I have to admit I am finding them useful as well.
Have a great week! See you in the trading room. May God Bless you ~
